Universal Orlando Resort has announced a new ride based on Gringotts Bank for its new Diagon Alley attraction.

The ride, named ‘Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts’, will be based on a clip from the final instalment of the film franchise (see below) that will offer a ‘multi-dimensional’ experience and form part of the new area of the theme park.

Diagon Alley will be built in Universal Orlando so visitors will be able to travel by Hogwarts Express from the park to Island of Adventures, where the Hogsmeade area is located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Visitors will have to hold a park-to-park ticket to travel between the two towns.

Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative at Universal Parks & Resorts said visitors will step into a London-themed area when they arrive at the Diagon Alley station, with the city’s famous landmarks to be replicated in the park.

This will also include the Nightbus and several shops such as Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Quality Quidditch Supplies and Borgin and Burkes. Zonkos will be moved from Hogsmeade to the new site, allowing Honeydukes to expand.

Universal had previously announced a Leaky Cauldron restaurant will be included in the Diagon Alley development.
