Hyatt opened a major new upscale hotel in Shanghai earlier this month.
Located in the Hopson International Plaza, a new luxury tower in the north of the city, Hyatt Regency Shanghai Wujiaochang is 50 minutes’ drive from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport.
The property’s most notable feature is the 25-metre-high central atrium, which features is designed in the style of a traditional Chinese courtyard with a glass roof and adorned with plants and trees.
“The opening of Hyatt Regency Shanghai Wujiaochang further expands Hyatt’s brand presence in Shanghai and significantly enriches our authentic and diversified brand experiences for guests,” said Christopher Koehler, Hyatt’s vice president & managing director of operations for China. “This hotel has been thoughtfully designed to make guests feel welcome and comfortable so that they can socialise, connect and celebrate any occasion.”
The hotel offers a total of 306 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 40 to 209m² and all featuring views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows. Facilities include the Market Café restaurant, which extends underneath the glass roof of the atrium, and a lounge in the sixth floor ‘Sky Lobby’. There is also a 24-hour gym on the eighth floor, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, and a whirlpool with underwater massage loungers.
And for the MICE market, Hyatt Regency Shanghai Wujiaochang offers 2,858m² of event space, including seven function rooms and the 774m² Regency Ballroom.
The hotel becomes the 18th Hyatt Regency in China and the second in Shanghai, following the nearby Hyatt Regency Chongming.
