AccorHotels will open a new Novotel resort in the Indian state of Maharashtra this week.

The new Novotel Imagica Khopoli will welcome its first guests on 16 September, surrounded by the Sahyadri Hills and within close proximity to the Adlabs Imagica and Aquamagica theme parks. The hotel is accessible from Mumbai via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

“We are delighted to be associated with the Novotel brand in India, and are confident that the first theme park property under AccorHotels will prove to be the preferred choice for families and holidaymakers,” said Pooja Shetty-Deora of AdlabsImagica. “Guests can re-live their childhood memories and treat their children to numerous marquee characters around the hotel.”

In its opening phase, the hotel will features 116 rooms which overlook the park, pool and surrounding countryside. Another 171 rooms and suites will then be added later this year, giving the hotel a total inventory of 287 rooms by the first quarter of 2016. Families will be offered a choice of 20 interconnecting rooms on each floor.

As well as being a leisure resort, Novotel Imagica Khopoli will also feature one of the largest meeting spaces in the area, with a pillar-less ballroom that can accommodate around 460 guests, plus a 1,600m² outdoor event area.

Other facilities will include four restaurants, a bar, swimming pool, and daily activity programmes for kids including arts and classes.

“The opening of Novotel Imagica Khopoli strengthens our position in the Indian market in line with the brand’s growth strategy,” said Jean-Michel Cassé, AccorHotels’ senior vice president of operations for India. “The launch follows the growing trend of integrated hotels with theme parks, along with the brand’s quality assurance and service standards. Novotel is the world’s most recognised midscale hotel brand under AccorHotels for business and leisure travellers, with hotels located in the heart of major international cities, business districts and tourist destinations.”

The new property becomes the 12th Novotel in India.
