Carlson Rezidor’s new Radisson Red hotel concept will make its debut in Guangzhou.
The hotel group has signed an agreement to manage a new-build property close to Guangzhou South Railway Station – the largest rail hub in southern China.
Scheduled to open its doors in Q1 2018, the new Radisson Red Guangzhou South Station will mark the modern hotel brand’s first property in the city, and only the second in the entire country, following the Radisson Red Shenyang Hunnan.
“Radisson Red provides owners and developers a product that we believe will be a leader in the lifestyle segment. The brand appeals to guests who have an ageless millennial mindset, and truly redefines the guest experience,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president of Asia Pacific. “Red is bold, alive and design-driven while being creative in its functional use.”
Radisson Red Guangzhou South Station will offer a total of 160 rooms, a “sky lobby” and an infinity-edged swimming pool. It will form part of the Union Plaza mixed-use development, which will also include office space and a shopping mall.
The Guangzhou hotel becomes only the fifth Radisson Red hotel that Carlson Rezidor has signed in Asia Pacific, and 10th signing globally. But more than 60 Radisson Red hotels are expected to open globally by 2020.
