New three-screen film extravaganza awaits visitors to Dubai Mall

Digital cinema specialist Barco and Reel Cinemas will unveil Dubai’s first multi-screen, panoramic movie theatre, Barco Escape this week. 
The three-screen cinema will the release of Bad Robot, Paramount Pictures, and Skydance Productions’ highly anticipated film Star Trek Beyond.
Starting 21 July when the film releases, Reel Cinemas at The Dubai Mall will be one of an exclusive group of theatres worldwide offering fans the opportunity to discover a new kind of Star Trek adventure available only in Barco Escape, with select sequences of Star Trek Beyond footage created to dramatically expand the Universe across three screens.

Abrams. “It is especially fitting, then, that we are partnering with Barco to provide an ultra-wide-screen immersive experience using their unique Barco Escape format. This premium format dramatically expands the width of the viewing plane, giving filmmakers an innovative new tool with which to tell stories and audiences an enhanced new way to experience cinema.”
Star Trek Beyond, the third installment of the phenomenally successful reboot, is directed by Justin Lin, and stars Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zach Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban. The most recent film, Star Trek Into Darkness, grossed more than US$467 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing entry in the Star Trek franchise.
