Nok Air has celebrated its 10th birthday with a special present.

The Thai low-cost carrier has received a brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Boeing, adorned with a special livery to mark the occasion. In true birthday style, the aircraft comes decorated with stars, streamers and the words ’10th Anniversary’ painted along the fuselage.

“Today is an extremely exciting day for all of us at Nok Air, as the ’10th Anniversary’ aircraft and livery is a symbol of all the hard work and commitment of everyone at Nok Air in the past 10 years to achieve our goal of becoming Thailand’s number one premium low-cost carrier,” said Nok Air’s CEO Patee Sarasin.

“We are proud to have worked with Boeing since we started operations and this aircraft also marks a special milestone for our partnership.”

Nok Air now operates a fleet of 16 B737s, with outstanding orders for a further 10.

Meanwhile, Nok has also launched a brand new domestic route connecting Bangkok with Khon Kaen, in northeast Thailand. Flights commenced this month and will operate twice a day direct from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport, using a B737 aircraft.
