NokScoot, the new Bangkok-based airline, has taken a major step towards its launch with the unveiling of its aircraft livery and staff uniforms.
The long-haul low-cost carrier, which is a joint venture between Thailand’s Nok Air and Singapore’s Scoot, will carry a distinctive aircraft design, combining Scoot’s yellow and white livery with Nok’s trademark bird’s beak on the front of the cockpit. The NokScoot logo is also painted on the tailfin.
The Boeing 777-200 aircraft arrived at its new home base, Don Mueang International Airport, on 23 November 2014. The aircraft is named ‘พราว’ in Thai, which means ‘sparkling’.
“The design not only represents our spirit of adventure and exploration, but it also reflects who we are. Our fun, cheerfulness and friendliness will be present both in the air and on the ground at all airports,” said Piya Yodmani, NokScoot’s chief executive officer.
Meanwhile, NokScoot has also unveiled the design of its cabin crew uniforms, which feature a bright yellow and black colour scheme.
“We value simplicity and efficiency. As a result, the design looks quite minimalist, yet still smart. The design also allows our cabin crew to perform their duties comfortably,” Piya added.
NokScoot was first announced late last year, marking Nok Air’s launch into the long-haul market and allowing Scoot to establish a presence in Thailand. Set to take off in the first quarter of 2015, it will initially operate a fleet of Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Based at Don Mueang, NokScoot will provide direct competition for Thai AirAsia X, which launched at the airport earlier this year. Other details, such as routes and cabin products, will be unveiled at a later date.
