US cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has won the award for ‘Europe’s Leading Cruise Line’ at the World Travel Awards.
The annual event, now in its 19th year, was held in Portugal and celebrates the travel industry’s commitment to customer service – as voted for by travel agents and customers around the world.
NCL’s victory within the cruise category marked the company’s fifth consecutive win at the awards with the firm dedicating four vessels to Europe for 2013.
“We are delighted that travel partners and consumers from around the world have chosen us for this award for the fifth year in a row,” said Francis Riley, vice president and general manager international, NCL. “This underlines that our wide array of cruises in Europe and our innovative Freestyle Cruising product are very well perceived by both guests and the industry professionals.”
NCL currently has the Jade, Spirit, Epic and Star sailing around Europe during the summer, with port intensive itineraries. In the winter, the Jade and Spirit remain in the region.
