Norwegian links Gatwick with Iceland and Lapland

Norwegian will offer British holidaymakers a series of new winter flight options this year, including new services to Iceland and Lapland, northern Finland.

From 30 October 2016, the airline will launch its first service between the UK and Iceland, connecting London Gatwick Airport with Reykjavik. Three weekly flights will operate throughout winter, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Then on 19 December, Norwegian will kick off the UK’s only scheduled direct flight to Lapland’s capital, Rovaniemi. Services will run every Monday and Friday, allowing families to take a week-long or weekend break to the home of Santa Claus.

As well as the new winter routes, the low-cost airline will increase the number of flights it operates from Gatwick to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Tromso and Grenoble, adding an additional 25,000 seats for the winter season.

The addition of these new routes and extra capacity to some of our most popular winter destinations will make this our busiest winter at London Gatwick,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian’s chief commercial officer.

In addition to the two new services from Gatwick, Norwegian has also announced plans for two new routes from Manchester, with a twice weekly service to Gran Canaria starting on 3 October and twice weekly flights to Tenerife commencing on 1 November.
