Oceania Cruises has announced that it is expanding its Culinary Discovery Tours into the South Pacific with its 1,250-passenger Marina.
The programme sees tailored itineraries consisting of shore excursions to local food markets, vineyards and farms. The small group tours will be joined by small groups that will be joined by one of the ship’s ‘Bon Appétit Culinary Center’ chefs.
After the tours, guests will join the chef in the training kitchen for a lesson in the regional cuisine.
“Oceania Cruises offers a unique culinary experience for Epicureans through our Bon Appétit Culinary Center and the new Culinary Discovery Tours. We created these tours for our guests on Marina as she heads to the South Pacific as feedback on our experiential cuisine programmes has far exceeded expectations,” said Kunal S. Kamlani, the line’s president.
On example of a culinary cruise would be the ‘Chef-Insider’s Food & Wine Feast’ where the Culinary Discovery Tour is to the Bay of Islands and visits Kerikeri, a horticultural centre and home to the Ake Ake winery which will include a meal created from locally grown foods depending on what’s fresh that day such as Pan-Roasted Snapper with Capsicum Coulis.
