The Okura Group has become the first Asia-based hotel company to join TripAdvisor‘s instant booking programme.
The Japanese company will now make its hotel inventory available through the new platform, which allows users to make a hotel booking without leaving the TripAdvisor site.
The bookings will still be made using the hotel’s booking system or via online travel agencies, but the customer will remain on the TripAdvisor site throughout.
Instant booking was launched in June 2014 and is currently only available for TripAdvisor users in the US.
“We’re excited to launch TripAdvisor’s new instant booking platform,” said Masaya Hasebe, Okura’s director of marketing. “As many of our properties have received TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards and Certificates of Excellence, I trust we have high potential to improve our conversion rate.”
The integration with Okura Group is now complete, allowing TripAdvisor users to book Okura, Nikko and Hotel JAL City properties.
