Oman’s Ministry of Tourism will conduct multi-city roadshow in India next month.

Taking place from 19 to 26 September, the event will see Omani tourism representatives, including hotels, DMCs and national carrier Oman Air, meet with members of the Indian travel trade in four cities: Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune.

“In 2015 we witnessed 17% growth in Indian arrivals and in the first six months of 2016 too we have seen a positive growth,” revealed Lubaina Sheerazi, the Omani Ministry of Tourism’s India representative. “Encouraged by these figures and to penetrate better in tier two cities, we have decided to conduct the roadshow in Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

“This year, we also identified Kolkata as a new market for Oman and will be conducting our first roadshow in the city. With this new addition, Oman has made presence in eight Indian cities, with Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai being our main source markets,” she added.

The Omani roadshow will start on 19 at the Park Hyatt Hyderabad, before travelling to the Oberoi Kolkata on 21 September, Courtyard by Marriott Ahmedabad on 23 September and JW Marriott Pune on 26 September. Events will include pre-arranged meetings between the Omani suppliers and Indian agents.
