Oman’s first fully automatic car parking system has opened at the City Seasons Hotel Muscat. The new facility, which can accommodate up to 306 cars, has been designed to provide a solution to parking issues in the city.
“The benefits of automatic parking are numerous” said Manu Madan, general manager City Seasons Hotel Muscat “First of all it eliminates the hassle of finding a parking spot so saving time. And it provides a secure environment for our guests to leave their vehicles.”
Simple to use, drivers take their car to an entry station and leave it to be picked up by the computerised elevators which manoeuvre it to a parking spot inside the building, an operation that takes less than two minutes. The automatic car park also requires a smaller footprint than conventional car parks which is crucial in a city that doesn’t have a lot of available space. It measures 60 metres by 6.55 metres and has nine elevators.
