Luxury resort operator One&Only will unveil its first ever resort in Australia on 1 July 2014.

The One&Only Hayman Island is currently completing a multi-million-dollar refurbishment to bring the private island into line with its standards. Upon reopening, almost half of the accommodation options will be suites, villas or penthouses.

The newly-designed pool wing will be an all-suite area with all units overlooking the swimming pool and ocean. Each suite will have separate living and dining areas and outdoor decks, while ground floor suites will have direct access to the pool.

The One&Only Hayman wing will feature a series of one-, two- and three-bedroom penthouses, most of which offer ocean views, while the resort will also feature a collection of beach villas and a freestanding private beach house. All these units have private pools and direct access to the beach.

The resort’s main swimming pool has been revamped with private cabanas and daybeds, while there is also a new pool area for families and an adults-only infinity-edged pool. A new One&Only Spa will be added, along with a hair and beauty salon and a fitness centre.

“One&Only Hayman Island is our first resort in the Asia Pacific region, and we are excited to introduce our One&Only style to this part of the world,” said Alan Leibman, CEO of Kerzner International, which operates the One&Only brand. “We have completely redefined luxury in the Great Barrier Reef and transformed the guest experience with the hallmarks of excellence found in One&Only resorts around the world, whilst capturing the breath-taking beauty of one of the natural wonders of the world.”

One&Only currently operates resorts in the Maldives, Mauritius, Dubai, the Bahamas, Mexico and South Africa. But its Asia Pacific expansion will continue with the launch of a new resort in Hainan, China.
