Kerzner International has signed a deal that will lead to the launch of its ultra-luxury One&Only resort brand in China.
The company has sealed a management contract with China Gezhouba Group for the One&Only Sanya on Haitang Bay. Construction of the new resort has already commenced, and once completed the beachfront property will offer 192 rooms, suites and villas, set among 11 hectares of tropical grounds with 380 metres of private coastline.
“We are excited to introduce the One&Only experience to China,” said Mark DeCocinis, president & chief operating officer of One&Only Resorts. “We have the opportunity to redefine the ultra-luxury experience in the region and I am confident that with our partners, we will introduce a truly extraordinary One&Only resort.”
Accommodation will be split between The Manor House, where rooms and suites will feature sea-facing balconies or terraces, and six private pool villas offering either two, three or four bedrooms. A further five low-rise ‘Mansions’ feature separate courtyard entrances and a mix of guest rooms and suites, some with private pools.
Facilities at the new resort will include a selection of restaurants, a spa with an authentic Hammam, fitness centre, children’s club and meeting space.
The announcement of the One&Only Sanya marks the latest stage in Kerzner’s Chinese expansion plans. The company recently that it will bring its Atlantis resort brand to Sanya in the coming years, while it is also rumoured to be considering a project at Shanghai Disneyland.
