Travel agents connected to the Sabre GDS are now able to automatically price the multi-airline, multi-sector fares offered by oneworld.
Previously, pricing of the oneworld Explorer, Global Explorer and Circle fares had to be calculated manually, with travel agents being responsible for working out the different sector costs.
Now, Sabre-connected agents worldwide can automatically calculate the fares for these tickets, complete with taxes and other charges, during the booking process.
“oneworld offers a wider range of multi-sector, multi-airline fares than any other global alliance,” said the alliance’s director of sales, José María Alvarado. “Making them easier to buy and sell, through the new technology now in place, will make them even more attractive. Travel agents will now be able to sell these fares with greater confidence using their GDS technology to reduce pricing errors significantly.”
Following the roll-out with Sabre, oneworld says it intends to extend this pricing capability to other GDSs.
