Onyx Hospitality Group has continued to expand in Sri Lanka with the opening of the Ozo Kandy.

Located close to the town centre and overlooking Kandy Lake and the surrounding hills, the new midscale property becomes the first new internationally-branded hotel to enter Kandy since 1981.

It offers 122 “cosy” rooms, all featuring free Wi-Fi, multimedia connectivity panels for smartphones, IPTVs and black-out curtains. Facilities at the hotel include a fitness room, restaurant, rooftop pool and lounge, and a 24-hour “grab and go” F&B outlet.

“Kandy is a destination with huge potential for local and international visitors, and by adding a quality hotel product like Ozo, we hope to be able to introduce a new type of visitor to the destination who will in turn help to boost the local economy,” said Alexandre Glauser, area general manager of Ozo Sri Lanka.

“Following the successful launch of OZO Colombo in 2014, the team and I are confident that Ozo Kandy will soon become the most sought-after property in the area by both locals and international visitors.”

Onyx now operates the two Sri Lankan Ozo hotels, in Colombo and Kandy, and is planning to bring its upscale Amari brand to the coastal town of Galle in future.
