Thailand’s Onyx Hospitality Group has signed a management agreement for a new Shama-branded serviced residence in Hong Kong.
The deal will see an existing 24-key serviced apartment building on Hong Kong’s Kennedy Road rebranded as the Shama Midlevels from 1 May 2016. The property will be connected to the Admiralty MTR station via Three Pacific Place F&B precinct.
“Our booking status has already shown positive signs and met our initial expectations,” said Tommy Lai, Onyx’s vice president for North Asia. “As the global economy is slowing down, we see most of the relocation projects of the foreign and multinational companies tend to be mid- to-short-term ones… making serviced apartments with flexible lease terms like Shama Midlevels a desirable accommodation choice.”
Shama Midlevels features 24 60m² one-bedroom units, each of which covers an entire floor of the building. Units come equipped with kitchens, living and dining areas, washer-dryers and home entertainment systems. There is also a ground floor garden area, a business corner, concierge services and a rooftop area.
Onyx currently manages five properties in Hong Kong – four under its Shama brand and one Ozo hotel. It is also planning to launch its first-ever Mosaic Collection property in Hong Kong later this year.
