Ski tour operators have welcomed record snowfall in the Alps and Canada this month after little snow delayed openings last year.
Whistler, Canada is said to have seen the best snow conditions in 10 years, while more than a metre has fallen in the French resort of Les Arcs and Cervinia, Italy.
Inghams said keen snowsports travellers are now rushing to book a holiday.
“With such excellent early season conditions, daily late sales for departure dates over Christmas and January have doubled,” said Hugh Walton, executive director at Inghams.
Last year’s ski season was marred by little snowfall in the initial few weeks, leading to some ski resorts delaying their opening date.
