Opodo celebrates 15th birthday

The travel industry gathered in London on Thursday night for a special event to celebrate Opodo’s 15th anniversary.
The occasion at London’s Soho Hotel marked a major milestone in the history of the company, which became one of the first online travel agencies in Europe when it was founded by a consortium of nine European airlines.
It became part of the eDreams ODIGEO group in 2011.
Reflecting on the history of the company at the event, Dana Dunne, CEO of eDreams ODIGEO, commented; “It’s fantastic to be able to take a moment to celebrate our 15 years in the travel industry, which would not have been possible without embracing the era of disruption and new technology.
“People are flying more than ever before and they want the world at their fingertips. They expect the best deals, in the shortest amount of time, at the best price, and Opodo consistently delivers. It is that to which we owe our success.”
Opodo’s also received the ‘Best Flight Booking Website’ title at this year’s British Travel Awards.
