Philippine Airlines (PAL) has launched flights to Guangzhou.
The new service will operate four times a week, direct from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2230, and arriving in Guangzhou at 0045 the next day. The return leg will leave Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 0200, getting back into NAIA at 0425.
Flights will be operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
The Guangzhou launch marks the latest stage in PAL’s expansion efforts. Earlier this year the national carrier commenced flights to three new Australian destinations, Darwin, Brisbane and Perth, and from October 2013 it will relaunch flights to the Middle East. Services to Abu Dhabi commence on 1 October 2013, and will be followed by new routes to Doha, Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai.
The airline was also recently removed from the EU aviation blacklist, and is planning to resume direct flights to Europe for the first time in 15 years.
