Philippine Airlines (PAL) has commenced a new service between Manila and Tokyo.
The new route, which commenced on 30 March 2014, sees the national carrier operate twice daily flights to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport.
Flights will depart the Philippine capital at 0805 and 1850 each day, using a mix of single-aisle Airbus A320 and twin-aisle A340 aircraft.
The new route complements PAL’s existing three daily flights between Manila and Tokyo Narita Airport, and two daily flights from Cebu to Narita.
“With this service, and what we already have, we are providing both our Japanese and Filipino customers the benefit of choice in terms of which gateway best suits their travel itinerary,” said PAL’s president and chief operating officer, Ramon Ang.
“As the operator of the Philippines’ flag carrier, we are deeply honoured to serve as a bridge by which tourism and business between our two countries can grow.”
In addition to the Tokyo flights, PAL operates 11 daily flights from Manila to other Japanese cities, including Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya.
