PAL receives fifth B777
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has taken delivery of its fifth new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The new twin-aisle jet arrived at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport recently following a delivery flight from Boeing’s factory in Seattle, and will now be put into service on the airline’s long-haul routes to Canada.
The new B777 seats 370 passengers in two classes, with 42 seats in business class and 328 in economy. It also comes equipped with PAL’s latest in-flight entertainment systems.
The new aircraft brings PAL’s total fleet size to 45 aircraft, including five B777-300ERs and five B747-400s. The airline is currently in the process of a major expansion, with new routes to Australia, China and the Middle East to be launched in the coming months. It also has outstanding orders for a further 20 Airbus A330-300 long-haul jets.
