Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts will open its first property in Vietnam later this year.
The upscale brand will make its debut in the country’s capital, Hanoi, in the fourth quarter of 2016, following the rebranding of the existing Sofitel Plaza hotel.
The property, which overlooks West Lake, was acquired by Pan Pacific Hotels Group in 2001 through a joint venture with Hanoi Construction Corporation. And effective 1 October 2016, it will be rebranded as the Pan Pacific Hanoi.
Prior to the relaunch, the hotel will undergo a series of refurbishments to its lobby, bar, restaurant and meeting space. The property features 273 rooms and 56 serviced suites.
“We are very excited to be bringing the Pan Pacific brand to a city like Hanoi,” said Bernold Schroeder, CEO of Pan Pacific. “Having a… hotel in Hanoi is part of our strategy to establish our presence in key gateway cities in the Asia Pacific region. We are committed to Vietnam as a strategic growth market as it ushers in a new phase of exciting developments in travel and tourism.”
Pan Pacific Hanoi will become the group’s second property in Vietnam, following the Parkroyal Saigon. After the rebranding, Sofitel will be left with one hotel in Hanoi, the Sofitel Legend Metropole.
