Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced the addition of a new Regional Cruise Line Member – Pandaw River Expeditions, specially-designed luxury small ship river cruises in Asia. The river cruise company joins the growing number of CLIA Cruise Line Members.

“Our Cruise Line Members are an integral part of the cruise industry and Pandaw River Expeditions is an ideal new member for our growing community,” said Cindy D’Aoust, president and CEO, CLIA.

Regional Cruise Line Members have access to thousands of CLIA Travel Agency and Agent Members as well as the opportunity to tap the vast marketing, promotional and event activities across CLIA’s European offices.

Pandaw, a luxury river cruise company, was founded in 1995 by Scotsman and Burmese historian Paul Strachan with the re-building of an original Clyde-built steamer called Pandaw. The company can trace its roots back to the original Irrawaddy Flotilla Company, founded by Scots merchants in 1865.

Still a family-run company, Pandaw was the first company to offer expeditions on both the Irrawaddy and Chindwin Rivers and has almost 20 years’ experience navigating three of the great rivers of South East Asia. Pandaw operates cruises in Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and China from June to April.
