United Airlines has placed an order for 35 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The agreement represents a conversion of the US carrier’s previous order for 25 A350-900s to the larger -1000 version, as well as the addition of 10 more orders.
Hong Kong Aviation Capital (HKAC) has agreed to purchase 40 Airbus A320neo and 20 A321neo aircraft. The Asian aircraft leasing company already has a portfolio of 50 Airbus jets, including the A320 and A330.
Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has signed a purchase order for five ATR 72-600s. The US-based leasing company purchased first order for 10 ATRs at Farnborough in 2010, and this order will bring ALC’s total ATR fleet to 21 aircraft.
Spirit Airlines has placed a firm order for 20 Airbus A321 aircraft, and has also opted to convert 10 of its existing A320 orders to the larger A321. The aircraft will seat 219 passengers in a single-class layout, and will also come fitted with ‘Sharklet’ wing-tip extensions.
Aerolease, the Bahrain-based aircraft leasing company, has signed a letter of intent with Russian planemaker Sukhoi. The agreement signifies Aerolease’s intention to finance or lease the new 100-seat Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet.
