Hyatt has opened its first Park Hyatt hotel in the Chinese beach resort of Sanya.
The new Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort is spread across 350,000m² of land and features its own private lake and sandy beach.
It offers 207 rooms, including 26 suites and 17 villas, most of which overlook the South China Sea. Facilities comprise eight F&B outlets, including a traditional Chinese tea house, five separate swimming pools and a kids’ club. Due to open later this year, the hotel’s lakeside spa will include a two-storey building and eight separate villas, plus a gym, a yoga studio and another outdoor pool.
For the MICE market, the Park Hyatt will offer eight residential-style event venues ranging from 42-335m².
“We are delighted to introduce the Park Hyatt brand to Sanya,” said David Udell, Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific. “This opening is a testament to our commitment to strategic, thoughtful and purposeful growth in China.
“The tourism and hospitality industry in Sanya has been booming in recent years, and we are proud that the Park Hyatt brand can be part of that growth. We look forward to welcoming travellers to our most premium brand, where we create sophisticated and enriching experiences,” he added.
Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort becomes the second Hyatt hotel in the area, following the Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay Resort & Spa. It also marks the fifth Park Hyatt hotel in China.
