Pan Pacific Hotels Group has unveiled plans to launch its first Parkroyal hotel on the Malaysian resort island of Langkawi.

Scheduled to open in 2017, the Parkroyal Langkawi Resort will feature 253 rooms and nine villas on a beachfront setting at Pantai Tengah Beach – the island’s longest stretch of sand.

The new resort will include two restaurants, a beach bar, spa, outdoor swimming pools and a gymnasium. It will also cater to the MICE market with several meeting rooms and a ballroom.

“Malaysia has been earmarked as one of the group’s key growth markets within Asia Pacific. Thus, we are delighted to be able to extend the Parkroyal footprint to yet another prime travel destination in the country,” said Bernold Schroeder, CEO of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

In Malaysia, Pan Pacific currently manages three Parkroyal properties – Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Parkroyal Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur and Parkroyal Penang Resort.

Over the next three years, Pan Pacific plans to open four more Parkroyal hotels in the Asia Pacific region.
