Philadelphia’s Mayor Michael Nutter and senior officials recently held a meeting with Qatar Airways chief executive HE Akbar Al Baker to discuss new trade, business and investment opportunities with Philadelphia.
Qatar Airways began daily scheduled passenger flights. The airline planned to bring new opportunities to the city by investing in community and helping boost trade, tourism and business links.
“We look forward to creating a lasting bond between the cities of Philadelphia and Doha,” added Al Baker. “There is an immeasurable opportunity for cultural exchange and we expect this new route will serve as a strong conduit for trade and commerce.”
In addition to Philadelphia, Qatar Airways’ US footprint includes daily non-stop flights between Doha and New York, Houston, Chicago and Washington, DC.
