Philippine Airlines beefs up long-haul fleet

Philippine Airlines has boosted its long-haul fleet with the arrival of a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Leased from Intrepid Aviation, the new twin-aisle aircraft will be primarily deployed on the airline’s trans-Pacific routes to North America. PAL expects to welcome another B777 from Intrepid Aviation before the end of 2016.
“The 777 has become our standard for passenger comfort, deployed on our long-haul routes,” said PAL’s president & chief operating officer, Jaime Bautista (pictured second from left). “It is the pivotal equipment that will propel us to our corporate vision of becoming a five-star airline.”
PAL configures its B777s with 370 seats in two classes. The national carrier is planning to further bolster its long-haul fleet in the coming years, with the delivery of six Airbus A350s due to commence in 2018.
