Plaza Premium Group has been appointed to manage Cathay Pacific’s lounges at airports across Asia.
From next month, the company will take over the running of The Wing, The Pier and The Cabin lounges at Hong Kong International Airport, in addition to its existing management of The Bridge and The Arrival lounges at the same airport.
It will also assume control of Cathay’s lounges at Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Penang and Taipei.
Plaza Premium takes over these lounges following the cessation of an agreement between Cathay and Peninsula Clubs, a subsidiary of Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels (HSH) – the company that operates Peninsula Hotels. Peninsula Clubs had been managing Cathay’s lounges at HKIA since 1998.
“We are proud that the group has been instrumental in the development and operation of Cathay Pacific’s Lounges at Hong Kong airport since its opening in 1998,” said HSH’s direct of properties, Martyn Sawyer. “We have been working diligently to transition existing staff members and we wish Cathay Pacific Lounges well in the future.”
The handover of these lounges to Plaza Premium will occur in phases from 25 April to 1May 2016.
