Preferred Hotels VP shares his top picks from the Pride collection

In support of the LGBT community, Preferred Hotels & Resorts has shared its Top Preferred Pride Picks for the summer.
In June 2011, Preferred Hotels & Resorts launched its Preferred Pride collection. It’s a collection of hotels that are either TAG Approved (Community Marketing’s Travel Advocacy Group) or belongs to IGLTA (International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association) – two organisations that are recognised to set the standards for LGBT travel.
Hotels that participate in Preferred Pride are offered diversity training to provide insight in best practices in serving the LGBT community from check-in to check-out. To further support the cause, Rick Stiffler, vice president of Leisure Sales for Preferred Hotels & Resorts, shared his Top Preferred Pride Picks for summer travel:
Montage Beverly Hills, California
Known as a hub for the fortunate few, Beverly Hills is one of the world’s most exclusive and sought-after destinations. NOPSI Hotel, New Orleans
The NOPSI Hotel in New Orleans pays homage to the city’s industrial history with its vaulted ceilings and graceful archways at the Grand Lobby. It’s an ideal hotel for foodies, offering the regionally inspired Public Service restaurant and the nearby SoBou Restaurant where guests can enjoy authentic New Orleans cuisine.
The Maritime Hotel, New York City
The Maritime Hotel is a nautically-themed hotel where guests can drop their anchors or sail between two of Manhattan’s vibrant neighbourhoods. Just off 16th and 9th Ave, guests will feel as if they’ve stepped off the streets of New York and onto a sleek luxury liner. The focal point of the property is its cabin-like rooms with five-foot porthole windows facing the Hudson River. In addition, the hotel is nearby Chelsea, known as the heart of gay New York.
XV Beacon, Boston
Set in a turn-of-the-century landmark Beaux Arts building, XV Beacon is a quaint gas-lit street in the heart of downtown Boston’s financial district. The distinguished boutique hotel features modern furnishings balanced with a grand staircase of marble, mahogany paneling and a caged-glass elevator that reflects its past.
Montalembert, Paris
Opened in 1926, Montalembert is a luxury boutique hotel on the vibrant Rive Gauche, known as the Left Bank. This five-star hotel in the historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés district is near the Musée d’Orsay with an Impressionist collection, and a short walk across the Seine from the iconic Musée du Louvre.
Myconian Naia, Mykonos
Overlooking Mykonos and the blue Aegean Sea, Myconian Naia is an adults-only luxury hotel equipped with 18 suites, an infinity pool on the deck offering iconic views of the sea and a gourmet restaurant providing signature Mediterranean cuisine. In the area is Kiki’s Tavern at Agios Sostis Beach which some consider the best for food in Mykonos.
