Preferred Hotel Group has signed up a luxury new-build hotel in Singapore.

The South Beach, which is currently under development adjacent to the city’s Esplanade MRT Station, is a 654-room luxury hotel designed by Philippe Starck.

The hotel will offer a Ladies’ Floors, which feature additional security and special amenities and services just for women, along with a restaurant, three bars and two ‘Sky Gardens’, each with a swimming pool. For the corporate market there will 19 meeting rooms and a ballroom.

“This landmark property will prove to be one of the best independent hotels to open in Asia in recent years,” said Anthony Ross, Preferred’s executive vice president for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa. “With a unique hospitality concept, The South Beach will pave the way for change in this already dynamic industry.

“We look forward to working closely with The South Beach team, leveraging on expertise from both sides, as well as Preferred Hotel Group’s global distribution network, to contribute to the success of this new Singapore icon upon its opening in 2015.”

The South Beach will become part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts brand, joining its two existing Singapore members, The Fullerton and Fullerton Bay hotels.
