Premier Inn, the budget hotel group, has formed a new partnership with Sabre to drive its expansion in the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia.

Under the new agreement, Premier Inn International will move all its hotels in the Asia region to Sabre’s SynXis Central Reservation and SynXis Booking Engine solutions. This forms part of the UK-based company’s plans to increase its presence in the international market, where it is targeting 50 hotels by 2020.

“We have ambitious goals to grow Premier Inn internationally and we are delighted to work with an innovative technology firm such as Sabre,” said Trevor Woollard, Premier Inn’s head of information systems. “Sabre’s continual technology investments, ability to scale quickly for a growing business and expertise in global markets make them the right partner for us.”

The new CRS and booking engine are aimed at helping Premier Inn capture more bookings through its direct channels, as well as leveraging Sabre’s third party distribution channels via the GDS, OTAs and other online channels.

“Technology is the single greatest opportunity facing the hospitality industry today, and Sabre customers are well-positioned to focus on what they do best – serving guests, while we ensure they stay on the cutting edge of hospitality technology to win the hearts and minds of today’s connected travellers,” said Alex Alt, president of Sabre Hospitality Solutions. “I’m thrilled to welcome Premier Inn to Sabre and looking forward to helping them grow their business.”

More than 32,000 hotels currently use Sabre’s distribution, reservations, property management, retailing and guest experience solutions.

Premier Inn is currently present in India, Indonesia, Thailand and the UAE, and will debut in Singapore later this year.
