The Priceline Group has formed a new partnership with TripAdvisor that will see its hotel inventory placed on the new Instant Booking platform.

Under the new tie-up, Booking.com will initially supply inventory to the platform, which allows users to book hotels via third party websites without leaving the TripAdvisor site.

Development work has already begun to support the integration of Booking.com’s hotels, which are expected to be available on the platform soon. Other Priceline brands, including Priceline.com and Agoda.com, expected to follow.

Stephen Kaufer, president & CEO of TripAdvisor, called the partnership a “huge win for travellers”.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have [Priceline] as our first strategic, global online travel agency partner,” said Kaufer. “Millions of TripAdvisor users coming to the site to plan, compare prices and book their trip will be able to instantly book options from The Priceline Group’s global hotel inventory in addition to the 235,000 properties that are already instantly bookable on TripAdvisor.”

Launched in 2014, TripAdvisor’s Instant Booking platform allows users to view rates on the hotel’s TripAdvisor page, and then book rooms without being diverted away from that page. The service is currently available in the US and will be gradually rolled out to other international markets in future.

“TripAdvisor has been a long-time partner of The Priceline Group and today’s announcement is part of the continued positive evolution of that relationship,” said Darren Huston, president & CEO of The Priceline Group. “Our mission is to help people experience the world, and we are constantly innovating how and where we engage with consumers to help them do this. We now believe this branded channel can help introduce more customers to our brands and the experiences we provide.”

Under the Instant Booking partnership, all reservations will be powered and handled by Priceline.
