Princess Cruises has announced more details on the newest addition to its fleet, Royal Princess.

The vessel, which is due to be launched in June 2013, is going to fitted with a host of innovative features including a TV studio, huge ‘piazza’ style atrium, a sea-walk and new ‘Sanctuary’ and adults only pool.

The new sanctuary and adults-only area will both be located towards the forward end of the top deck and offer three private cabana options, along with loungers and ‘serenity stewards’.

“The private spa-inspired setting of the Sanctuary and the calm atmosphere of our adults-only pools have made them one of the most popular areas on our ships,” said Paul Ludlow, Princess Cruises UK director. “So on board Royal Princess we’re taking both of these areas and giving them a new twist.”

Those guests who take up the option of a cabana will be given the option of ordering one of the line’s new ‘cabana picnic baskets’ as well as being able to personalise their day with treatments.

Following its completion, the 3,600 passenger Royal Princess, will sail on a Grand Mediterranean cruise before heading out to the Caribbean.
