Pune airport will operate limited hours for the next three months

15 January (today).

The reduced operating hours comes in the wake of airport modernisation work. The Indian Air Force (IAF) shares the air field runway and the air traffic control (ATC) with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), which manages the civil flights to and from Pune. The runway will remain closed from 2200 hours to 0800 hours for three months to facilitate work under the Modernisation of Air Field Infrastructure (MAFI).

“The revised schedule has been worked out in such a manner that none of the existing flights have been cancelled. Infact, nearly four to five non-scheduled flights that operate out of Pune everyday will also accommodated during this available time, over and above the scheduled flights,” AAI Pune Director, Manoj Kumar Gangal told the Times of India.
The airport will handle a total 100 civil aircraft movements i.e take offs and landings every day.
