Formula 1 racing driver Daniel Ricciardo was on hand as Qantas Ambassador to launch the airline’s new schedule for its London to Melbourne A380 service.

The reschedule means the out-going flight will leave Heathrow at 13.30 to arrive in Melbourne the next day at 20.55.

The return leg will depart Melbourne at 22.55 to land in London at 13.40 the following day.

The new schedule will commence on 21 July and will provide more flexibility at its current schedule means both A380 services leave within an hour of each other.

The London to Sydney service will take off at 21.20 and land at 06.20 in Sydney two days later, while the return departs Australia at 15.50 to arrive in London the following day at 06.45.

“Qantas offers double daily A380 services to Australia via Dubai. Our new schedule means our customers now have a choice between an afternoon departure or an evening departure from London, and an early morning or lunchtime arrival on their return journey to the UK,” said Eric Jelinek, regional general manager UK & Ireland at Qantas.
