Qatar Airways continues to expand its South Asian operations with the launch of additional flights to two regional capitals: Colombo and Dhaka.

Effective 1 September 2017, the Doha-based carrier will expand its Colombo service from four to five flights per day, while the frequency of its Dhaka route will rise from two to three daily flights.

All the additional direct daily services will be operated using Qatar Airways’ single-aisle Airbus A320 aircraft, which features 12 seats in business class and 132 in economy.

“We are again delighted to be able to cater to business and leisure growth in both of these vibrant gateway cities,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker. “The increased capacity on the Dhaka and Colombo routes represents a major commitment by Qatar Airways to enhance our offering to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

“We have demonstrated our long-term commitment to both countries that has been rewarded with the loyalty of many thousands of passengers per month who choose to fly with us. We look forward to welcoming even more passengers on our flights,” he added.

Qatar Airways flies to six South Asian capital cities: Colombo, Delhi, Dhaka, Islamabad, Kathmandu and Male.
