Qatar Airways has expanded its route map in Pakistan with the launch of two new destinations in as many days.
Flights to Sialkot, in northeast Punjab, commenced on 16 July and will now operate four times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays).
Then on 17 July, the Doha-based airline launched its inaugural flight to another Punjabi city, Faisalabad. This route will operate on the remaining three days of the week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
Qatar Airways will serve both routes using a two-class, 144-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
“Qatar Airways has a long-standing commitment to serve Pakistan and we are delighted to operate an exceptionally comprehensive route network covering the length and breadth of the country,” said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways’ group chief executive.
“There are a significant number of Pakistani expatriates who are working in Qatar and the GCC. The launch of these new destinations will enable us to quickly meet the growing demand of these travellers,” he added.
Sialkot and Faisalabad have joined Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar in Qatar Airways’ Pakistani network. And the airline will continue its nationwide expansion in the coming weeks, with the launch of three weekly flights to Multan on 2 August.
