Qatar Airways has announced its new flights from Edinburgh to Doha will launch in May.
The new route will start on 28 May with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with the airline expecting passengers to use the service to travel onto Australia, Asia and Africa.
The aircraft will be configured with 22 business class seats and 232 in economy.
Flights starting in Edinburgh will operate at 14.45 to arrive in Doha for 23.40, while the return journey starts in Doha at 8.00 to get to the Scottish city at 13.15.
“The start of services from Edinburgh to Doha not only offers travellers from the Scottish capital access to the Middle East in under seven hours but also a quicker total journey time to other popular destinations,” said CEO Akbar Al Baker. “We are delighted to confirm the Boeing 787 will operate on this important new route and are sure that not only will this benefit the local market in Scotland, but also attract a significant amount of business and trade links for those wishing to travel to Edinburgh from all corners of the world.”
