Qatar Airways has increased capacity on its Melbourne route, with the deployment of a Boeing 777-300 aircraft to the Australian city.
The new wide-body aircraft features 335 seats in two cabins, with 42 seats in business class and 293 in economy. This marks an increase in capacity of 30% compared to the previous aircraft.
The Melbourne flights will leave Doha daily at 0055, arriving into Victoria’s state capital at 2225. The return service will then leave Melbourne at 2355, getting back into Doha at 0620 the following day.
“The increase in overall capacity on our Melbourne route is further testament to our commitment to the Australian market,” said Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker. “The short connection times, along with our award-winning on-board service, makes Qatar Airways a favourite with our Australian passengers who are looking for both comfort and convenience on long-haul flights.”
Qatar Airways currently flies to 136 destinations, with a further seven due to be added in 2014.
