Qatar Airways has recently purchased the Sheraton Skyline hotel in London.

The hotel will continue to be managed by Starwood under the Sheraton brand. This is the first hotel to be bought by the airline outside of Qatar, where it owns the Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha and runs the new Hamad International Airport Hotel.

The Sheraton Skyline offers 350 rooms, including club rooms with access to the Sheraton Club. The airline has embarked on a strategy to expand into the hotel business. The purchase is part of that strategy which is expected to include further hotels in North America, United Kingdom and elsewhere.
