Qatar Airways has revealed that it will reinstate its service to the Indian city of Nagpur.
The airline suspended the route in May 2009, but will relaunch flights on 1 December 2015, with the new service operating daily. Flights will depart Doha at 1955 and arrive in Nagpur at 0215 the next day. The return service will then leave at 0345, arriving back in Doha at 0555.
Qatar Airways will operate the route using an Airbus A320 aircraft with 12 seats in business class and 132 in economy.
“Reinstating the Doha-Nagpur route is part of Qatar Airways’ strategy to service increasing demand by providing the best possible flying experience to our customers in India,” said the airline’s group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker.
“Today, India has the largest number of destinations served by our carrier across any market and we will continue to look for more destinations and additional flights to expand our reach in the Indian subcontinent.”
The addition of Nagpur, which lies in the state of Maharashtra, will boost Qatar Airways’ total Indian network to 13 cities, which it serves with a total of 102 weekly flights.
