Qatar Airways is now able to offer more destinations in Southeast Asia following the expansion of its codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways.
The Doha-based carrier will now be able to sell Bangkok Airways flights on 10 more routes, from Bangkok to Chiang Rai, Udon Thani, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Nay Pyi Taw and Siem Reap, plus Koh Samui to Singapore, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur, and Phuket to Chiang Mai.
These add to the airlines’ existing codeshare agreement on routes from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Lampang, Trat, Sukhothai, Koh Samui, Mandalay, Yangon and Phnom Penh.
“It has been a period of rapid expansion for Qatar Airways, with new route launches around the globe. The addition of these codeshare routes with Bangkok Airways further enhances our competitive offering,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker.
Qatar Airways currently operates four daily flights to Bangkok, including one using its Airbus A380 aircraft, plus daily services to Phuket.
