The recent announcement of Qatar Airways being selected the strategic partner of FC Barcelona has resulted in the airline’s Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker and President of Catalonia, Honourable Artur Mas, and Mayor of Barcelona, Honourable Xavier Trias, discuss new trade, business and investment opportunities.
Al Baker mentioned that the airline planned to further expand its operations in Barcelona from current 10 flights each week to double daily, helping boosting trade and business links between the State of Qatar and Catalonia.
“Extra frequencies would be a tremendous boost to the economy of Barcelona and surrounding areas, helping create new jobs and also bring more tourists to this city,” said Al Baker.
Over the coming year, Qatar Airways will launch scheduled flights to a diverse portfolio of new routes, including Chicago (10 April); Salalah (22 May); Chengdu yet to be confirmed, and many more.
