Qatar Airways launches Yangon flights

Qatar Airways resumed its flights to Yangon after a four-year absence with the launch of scheduled services. This new service which was suspended in January 2008, and is being restored, providing greater economic and travel opportunities.
The inaugural flight included Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker along with HE Khin Zaw Win, ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and responsible for Qatar. The delegation was officially welcomed at Yangon International Airport by HE U Myint Swe, chief minister Yangon Region.
Qatar Airways is operating thrice-weekly non-stop scheduled flights into Yangon from Doha with an Airbus 319 aircraft in a two-class configuration offering 8 seats in business and 102 in economy.
