Qatar Airways has confirmed that its Budapest-Doha route will be made direct and daily from September. The route will eliminate the stopover in Bucharest and boost from three to seven flights a week from 14 September. “It means that the journey time is shortened for passengers travelling from Budapest to the Middle East and enables increased options for onward connections to Asia,” said Kam Jandu, director of aviation at Budapest Airport. “Moreover, we can offer more capacity on their Airbus A320 flights to Hungarian originating travelers”. The news comes after the Hungarian airport opened its SkyCourt last month, which combined Terminals 2A and 2B to increase capacity.
