Qatar Airways will embark on a major expansion of its US network next year, with the launch of flights to three new destinations: Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta.
All three new routes will be served daily, direct from Doha, and once this phase of expansion is complete, Qatar Airways will offer direct flights to 10 cities in the US.
“As Qatar Airways continues its global expansion, we are delighted to be offering even more gateways in the United States, connecting passengers from destinations across the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Africa and Southeast Asia,” said Qatar Airways’ group CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
“We look forward to offering a great travel experience to our US passengers… across our network of more than 140 destinations, with a convenient one-stop transfer at the new state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport in Doha.”
The expansion will commence on 1 January 2016, with the launch of daily services to Los Angeles, using a two-class Boeing 777 aircraft. Then on 16 March 2016, the airline will launch daily flights to Boston using its new two-class Airbus A350 aircraft. Finally on 1 July 2016, a new daily service to Atlanta will be launched using a B777 aircraft.
The four new destinations will operate alongside Qatar Airways’ existing US routes to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC.
And from 1 March 2016, Qatar Airways will add a second daily flight to New York’s JFK Airport, using its A350 aircraft.
