Qatar Airways to display A350 at Indian air show

Qatar Airways will exhibit its new Airbus A350 aircraft at the India Aviation 2016 event in Hyderabad this month.
This year’s air show, which takes place from 16-20 March, is expected to see 250 exhibitors display their wares to 50,000 visitors. And Qatar Airways, which was the global launch customer of the A350, will be making its debut at the event.
This follows the recent display of the airline’s A350 and A380 aircraft at the Singapore Airshow.
“We are proud to showcase our A350 for the first time in the Indian market, giving prospective clients and visitors a glimpse of what to expect when they fly onboard,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive Akbar Al Baker. “The aircraft is the very latest in design, technology and comfort, and will be making its debut appearance on the Indian shores soon.
“India, as one of the world’s largest aviation markets, continues to command respect. The focus this year on growing the manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul businesses in India is commendable, and will benefit the aviation industry as a whole,” he added.
This theme of India Aviation 2016 is “India’s Civil Aviation Sector: Potential as Global Manufacturing & MRO Hub”. Organised by India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the event will be inaugurated by India’s President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, and will feature static displays, demonstration flights and aerobatic shows.
Qatar Airways currently operates seven A350s on routes from Doha to Frankfurt, Munich, Singapore and Philadelphia. The aircraft come equipped with 36 seats in business class and 247 in economy.
